The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is just around the corner, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the tournament's logo, inspired by the stunning decorations of the Moroccan Zellij.
This year's edition promises to be an exciting one, with Morocco hosting the tournament from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
The 2025 AFCON will be the 35th edition of the biennial African football tournament, and it's expected to attract top teams and players from across the continent.
Morocco was chosen as the host country after Guinea was stripped of its hosting rights due to inadequate preparations.
One of the most exciting aspects of the tournament is the newly designed logo, which showcases the rich cultural heritage of Morocco.
The logo's design is inspired by the traditional Moroccan Zellij, a style of mosaic tile work that is characteristic of Moroccan architecture and art.
The tournament will feature 24 teams, including defending champions Ivory Coast, who will be looking to retain their title.
Other top teams, such as Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa, will also be competing for the coveted trophy.
The 2025 AFCON will be played across nine venues in six host cities, including Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakesh, Rabat, and Tangier.
The opening match will take place on December 21, 2025, at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir.
CAF has also announced the draw date for the group stage, which is scheduled for January 27, 2025, in Rabat.
The draw will determine the groups and fixtures for the tournament .
